Tear out and replacement of existing data acquisition system and engine control system in an existing repair and overhaul test facility.

Key features:

SRT’s test cell normally tests seven engines per week in a single shift. Installing a DAS into this extremely busy environment required a unique approach to ensure minimal impact on test cell throughput. The solution was to manufacture and pre-wire a new facility-side electrical coupling plate to terminal strips in the control room. EDAS was installed and wired to these new terminal strips. Swapping of the existing/new coupling plate could be done in one hour allowing engines to continue to be passed off using the existing DAS while EDAS was installed and commissioned. Actual test cell down time was limited to only two days.
