1P Moment Test Rig

Design, supply and commissioning of 1P Moment Test Rig to provide accurate and repeatable 1P bending loads and thrust loads to the running engine. The test rig is dual purpose and is used for both production pass-off and 1P testing, thereby reducing test set-up times.

Key features:

• Maximum 1P moment of 150,000 in-lbf applied to an engine running at 2,000 shp @ 2,200 rpm
• 100Hz steady-state and transient data measurement
• 3000 channels capacity
• 100KHz dynamic data measurement
• Dual bleed air control systems that are fully redundant

Capabilities:

• Production testing of a Turboprop engine
• Simulation of in-flight bending moments on the propeller shaft arising from gyroscopic forces during aerobatic maneuvers
• Simulation of in-flight thrust loads
