The turnkey supply of an inlet air heating system for a Marine Gas
Turbine Engine Test Facility.

Key features:

• Capability to increase facility inlet air temperature by 40°C
  for flow rates up to 180 kg/s

This heated intake system recycles heat dissipated by the facility loadbank system. The facility loadbanks in conjunction with a generator are the main components in the facility load absorption system. The main challenge of the heated intake is extracting hot air from the loadbanks without creating any additional backpressure that may otherwise reduce their performance. To achieve this, the system pressure must be balanced at all times.

The scope of supply involved the creation of a system specification and a trade-off analysis of several solution options. Key test systems provided include:
